Light that defines space – results of the design competition featuring the SERPENT-PLUS system
Can light be the principal architect of an interior? This is the question we asked ourselves together with Grupa Mo when organising a competition dedicated to architects and interior designers. The outcome of the competition allowed us to discover the answer – and it exceeded our boldest expectations.
The aim of our challenge was to develop a design in which the innovative, modular SERPENT-PLUS luminaire would not be just an accessory, but an element that integrates harmoniously into the architectural fabric.
Idea: A challenge to the imagination
Why did we decide on this formula? We wanted to encourage designers to move beyond the standard approach of "lighting as a backdrop". Our intention was to demonstrate that contemporary LED technology, combined with bold design, makes it possible to create ambience, define zones and build a narrative within an interior.
The standard of the submitted entries was exceptionally high. The jury faced a difficult task, looking for designs that combined functionality with uncompromising aesthetics in a unique way.

The hero of the competition: SERPENT-PLUS profile
The key to the participants’ success was an in-depth understanding of the system that is the SERPENT-PLUS system. This solution proves that a distinctive form can go hand in hand with outstanding lighting technology. It is a flexible modular system that enables architects to "draw with light" in a space without compromising user comfort.Why is SERPENT-PLUS so exceptional?
• Modularity: It allows the creation of long, fluid lines of light or closed geometric forms (circles, rounded squares).
• Flexibility: A wealth of reference shapes that make it possible to create both straight and curved lines of light, adapted to the room layout and to wall or ceiling curvatures.
• Design: The minimalist form ensures that the luminaire appears light and contemporary, regardless of the scale of the project.
• Outstanding lighting parameters: This is a key asset for professionals. The system offers three types of optics, providing two different beam angles, and makes it possible to achieve a very low Unified Glare Rating of UGR < 10. As a result, SERPENT-PLUS guarantees the highest visual comfort, eliminating glare.
This makes it an ideal solution both for large commercial spaces (where performance parameters and standards are crucial) and for intimate private interiors (where atmospheric design is key).

Competition Winners
We are delighted to announce who has most successfully mastered light and impressed the Jury with their vision:
🥇 I Miejsce: Anita Kruk (Poznań) She won with an exceptionally atmospheric visualisation of a restaurant. The design proved that SERPENT-PLUS can create intimacy and warmth, even within a public space.
🥈 II Miejsce: Agnieszka Ważny (Leszno) Recognised for her design of the lobby at Hotel Pleszew. The Jury was captivated by the elegance and by the way in which the lighting emphasised the prestigious character of the venue.
🥉 III Miejsce: Maja Warsińska (Poznań) Awarded for the design of a contemporary conference room. This is proof that office lighting can be inspiring and dynamic, supporting creative work.
🏅 Wyróżnienie: Wojciech Siudowski (Szczecin) Special recognition for the intriguing “Lumen Cave” design. It is a bold vision that revealed a completely different, artistic side of our system.
