From bespoke commission to a production model

The genesis of HELIX reaches back to a spectacular commission delivered for the Casaire showroom in Dubai, where the KLUŚ team, in cooperation with distributor HUDA Lighting, created a monumental installation comprising three rings with diameters of 6, 5 and 4.4 metres. At the time, 200 metres of the GIZA-DUO-LL profile, 400 metres of the satin LIGER-22 cover and 665 metres of LED tape rated 9.6 W/m at 2700 K were used. The swirling lighting effect, achieved through special bending of the profile, created a unique interplay of light and shadow that became the inspiration for the reference variants.

The success of the Dubai project, which not only became the showroom’s main attraction, but also a point of reference for the client’s subsequent showrooms in India and for new projects in Kuwait and Morocco, confirmed the potential of the virtually swirling lighting installation concept. The team of KLUŚ engineers and designers therefore decided to create a ready luminaire that would retain the spectacular visual effect of the original, while being adaptable to a wide variety of design needs.

Design philosophy and spatial aesthetics

The LEDs used are characterised by a colour rendering index of CRI>90, which guarantees natural colour rendering of illuminated objects. Colour temperature can be selected depending on the purpose of the space – from warm 2700 K tones that create an intimate atmosphere, through a universal 3000 K, to cooler 4000 K for spaces of a more functional character. For projects requiring dynamic control there are also Tunable White, RGB and RGBW versions, which allow changes to colour and colour temperature depending on the time of day, type of event or the mood to be achieved.
