Installation on the outer edge of steps

The LED profile is mounted on the outer edge of the steps (nosing), providing the possibility of illuminating both the front of the step (riser) and the option of upward illumination. This popular installation method improves the visibility of the steps. An additional advantage is that milling is not necessary. An example of such a profile in the KLUŚ offer is the aluminum profile STEKO PLUS, which is also available as an option with an anti-slip fluorescent strip. This type of LED lighting for stairs is especially used in public places, cinemas, sports facilities (e.g. stands) and catering establishments. To emphasize the uniqueness of the place, you can choose strips of different colors, the so-called RGB strips (red-red, green-green, blue-blue). Blue strip is particularly popular.

Installation under steps

Here the LED profile is mounted at the bottom of the step, in the milled lower part of the nosing, which makes it invisible after installation. The PIKO profile is perfect for this purpose because it does not require deep and wide milling due to its minimal dimensions. This product is also ideal for lighting stairs made of light-reflecting materials, because its design and the use of appropriate LED strips provide a line of light. This mounting method can create a backlight effect that "lifts" the steps.

Installation in handrails

The LED profile is mounted in stair handrails, illuminating the space around the stairs. This is an alternative mounting method that provides light at eye level, while the stairs themselves can remain darker. A dedicated profile for such solutions is the POR. aluminum profile recommended for handrails with a diameter of 42 or 49 mm. The profile is placed in the lower milled part of the handrail.

Installation on staircase walls

The LED profile can also be mounted on walls, along the stairs, illuminating the steps with subtle side light. This option may be particularly useful in situations where it is not possible to install lighting in treads or risers, or when you want to obtain more subtle lighting. For those who are looking for such solutions, interesting options are aluminum profiles KOZMA and PIKO (which can be bent into an arc if necessary) or OBIT – depending on what material the wall is made of.

Installation on irregularly shaped landings

In addition to LED lighting for stairs, you can also decide to illuminate irregularly shaped landings. In this case NEON FLEX, LED hoses will be perfect, as they can be bent in various directions and are highly resistant to dust and other contaminants.

Selection of a LED strip color

The choice between warm and cold light is a completely subjective matter, depending on personal preferences and the effect you want to achieve. However, it is worth noting that warm-colored LED strips go perfectly with wood, introducing a cozy atmosphere into the room, while cold-colored light emphasizes the severity of materials such as concrete. When choosing LED lighting for stairs, the power of the LED strip should also be selected appropriately. For non-dimmable lighting, we recommend strips with a power of approximately 4.5 W, as they ensure comfortable use even after dark.
